Additional Experiences
We’re not all about fishing, all of the time. We get excited when we hear from folks who are also interested in seeing and exploring Nootka Sound through other experiences!
We have paddleboards, kayaks and surfboards on site that are ready for adventure. Beach combing, historical tours at friendly cove and hiking Nootka Island to name a few are all activities that we are happy to facilitate!
Wildlife
Wildlife abounds here, including bears, whales, eagles, sea otters, wolves and much more! Nootka Sound will leave you speechless – there is an endless variety of wilderness, wildlife and history to experience.
Surfing
Nootka Island offers the best opportunity for uncrowded waves on the entire West Coast of Vancouver Island. Although the prime swell season spans from October-May, there are many days during the summer where some great waves are to be had. We have a diverse selection of Surfboards at the lodge for those that are interested in taking a break from fishing to paddle into a few waves, likely all by yourself!
We are proud to offer surf trips in the fall and spring seasons for those interested in joining us for a dedicated surfing adventure! Air Nootka
Air Nootka offers private seaplane charters to our guests, their fleet of floatplanes make it easy to get to the most remote of locations. Whether you wish to go hiking, freshwater fishing, or just explore Nootka Islands incredible coast from the sky, Air Nootka can accommodate.
